Ex. What was the day on 15 Aug, 1947?
Sol. We know that till year 1600 there were no odd days.
Till 1900, the number of odd days = 1
In the next 46 years, every normal year would have 1 odd day, and every leap year would have an additional odd days, that is, 2 odd days.
Hence, from 1901 to 1946 the total number of odd days = 46 + 110 = 57, which is equivalent of 8 full weeks and one extra day i.e. 1 odd day. So, that makes a total of 2 odd days till 1946.
